John Manganaro: Hitting, Pitching, Catching

Coach Manganaro spent 20 seasons with the Wayne State College baseball program and served 17 years as head coach.  John compiled an overall record of 506-309-1 (.620) and was 198-54 in Northern Sun Conference play (.785)  He won six straight NSIC regular season titles (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009).  In 2009, Coach Manganaro tied the WSC school record for wins in a season, going 45-15 overall and 27-4 in the NSIC to capture a sixth straight regular season title.  He has won numerous awards, including four times NSIC Coach of the Year and OWH Midlands Coach of the Year.  Additionally, he helped build at least one All-American in six of his last seven seasons as head coach of WSC.

Bill Olson: Pitching

  • Owns over 1,500 career coaching victories, winning games at over 750 winning percentage.

Zach Herr: Pitching

  • Pitched for Skutt Catholic High School garnering first-team all-state accolades from both the Lincoln Journal Star and the Omaha World-Herald. He compiled a 7-2 record with a 1.22 ERA, while leading the state with 89 strikeouts.

  • Left handed pitcher at the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 06’ 07’ and 08’ where he made 74 career appearances to rank fourth all-time at NU at that time

  • Drafted in the 38th round of the 2008 MLB draft by the San Diego Padres

  • 2009 Midwest League midseason All-Star and won 2009 Midwest League Championship with the Fort Wayne Tin Caps, as well as won 2011 California League Championship with the Lake Elsinore Storm.

  • 4 years professional pitching experience

  • Graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Clarkson College in 2016 which gives him an educated background in sports injury prevention


Curt Shockey: Hitting

Coach Shockey is well known as one of the very elite baseball instructors. His knowledge of hitting and pitching is well respected at every level of the game. However, what really sets Curt apart from other instructors is his ability to "teach".

  • Instructor, evaluator, and speaker at numerous baseball camps and showcases
