Fall Ball Opening Weekend Rules & Reminders (Copy)

Dear Coaches & Families,

Here are some final rules & reminders to know and remember for the 2023 fall ball season:

  1. If your coach hasn’t picked up your team box yet, please do so. Except for instructional league, which will be handled tomorrow morning as you get there.

  2. Each half inning will end after three outs or five runs - whichever comes first. This is for all leagues.

  3. Time Limits: For 12U and under games, there will be no new inning started after one hour and forty minutes. This is to keep fields on schedule. For 13U and older, there will be no new inning after one hour and fifty minutes. This is due to one more inning in those games than 12U and younger have.

  4. Metal Spikes: Metal spikes are NOT ALLOWED for pitchers on any portable or turf pitching mounds whatsoever. Please tell your pitchers to bring molded cleats or turf shoes, whichever they have and/or prefer.

  5. NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS WHATSOEVER IN THE DUGOUTS, STANDS, OR FIELD OF PLAY AT ANY TURF FIELDS. This includes Yard 1,4,5, Skutt, Buena Vista and Westview. Failure to abide by this policy will result in future games at turf fields being moved off of the turf to a dirt field. If you see an opposing team or other fans breaking this rule, please remind them of this policy so that it does not cost your team or others the ability to play on those nice surfaces.

  6. For any non-turf fields you play at, please spit any sunflower seeds into a cup. Be respectful to the next group of people who will be using the bleachers or dugouts that you are using.

  7. Please make sure to throw away any of your trash and/or take with you whatever you bring to any field.

Fall Ball Introduction/Parent Meeting Blog

Dear Coaches & Families,

Thank you all for registering for UBA's 2023 Fall Baseball Leagues.

1) Fall ball rosters and schedules are posted. There are still some games that may get changed but anyone affected by changes from this point forward will be notified via the email you inputted when registering.

Please keep in mind that we always try to accommodate everyone's schedule requests when possible.

2) For fall ball leagues we will follow standard USSSA rules as the foundation for rules of play. However, each half inning will end after three outs or five runs scored - whichever comes first.

3) The team meet & greet/practice schedule for Saturday is posted on the UBA web site but you can also find it HERE.

4) Team boxes with hats, shirts, balls, scorebooks, membership cards, etc., will be ready for coaches to pick up Friday, 8/25th at the latest. They may be ready sooner and we will send an email as soon as they are ready. Coaches, if you cannot make it in to pick your box up please have someone else do it for you so you can distribute the items to your players on Saturday or whenever your first team get-together is (if you're making alternate plans to what we schedule you for).

5) For any players who were either added to a roster late or switched rosters for any reason after the initial rosters came out, you may need to come into UBA yourself to either pick up or swap out your game shirt for the season because the initial shirt order wouldn’t have had you on the list with the team you ended up on. We ordered backup shirts for those situations so it shouldn’t be a problem getting you into the appropriate jersey.

6) Lastly, remember this league is about getting reps, having fun and trying new things. Your players don't need to complete any additional registrations for any of the clinics offered in September. They can just show up at their designated time on the Calendar of Events.
